The small and nice town of Malcesine is thronged with tourists in the summer season because there are many things to see and do. There are also many events organised throughout the year in Malcesine, further appealing to tourists. July and August are the most holiday-friendly months of the year and if you want to visit Malcesine during these months, you will find a lot to do, in addition to the usual touristy things.

Shopping
Kick off your holiday with a shopping festival at night thanks to "Shooping sotto le stelle"! You can experience the town in its full splendour in the moonlight, and what's more, there will be dancing and singing as well as shopping. "Shooping sotto le stelle" is on 3rd June,1st July, 5th August, and 2nd September. You could also visit the vintage market organised during the month, where you will not just experience an old-style market, but find some good bargains. 

Adventure sports
For the more adventure inclined tourists, the Red Bull X-Alps, a paragliding / walking event on 2nd July, provides a test of your strength and skill. The Foiling Week (6 - 9 July) provides another opportunity for sports lovers to enjoy boating and connecting with fellow foil boat lovers. There is also a swimming competition organised in the middle of July (the North Lake Swim Cup on 22 July), an ideal way to beat the summer heat. Of course, what are sports without football? Malcesine will also be organising a football festival at the public gardens (29 July – Festa del calcio).

Musical events
Some bands are contracted to perform a night show live at the public square / garden. For those who are more interested in classical music, there are grand opera evenings planned at the Scaliger Castle, which has a lovely theatre suitable for such events. There will also be other concerts organised at the castle, including choir concerts. In addition to these, there would also be musical festivals being organised on the streets occasionally. If you are into Jazz music, you can attend the Jazz festival organised abroad a sailing ship - definitely a unique experience. And last but not the least, you can also look forward to the Malcesine Blues Festival (11- 12 August).

Food & Drinks
There are several culinary events taking place during the summer. These include a fish and wine event at the castle (the "Festa del Pesce" is on 17th June). Food will also be a part of almost every other event (20 - 21 May, "Aspettando il ciottolando", 23 - 24th September "Ciottolando con gusto"). You can sample the local delicacies at almost every opportunity. And also on "Fish & Wine" on 7 July. Parties Who can think of events in a sea resort without thinking of a beach party? Rest assured, there will be one! Or perhaps, more than one. Apart from this, there will also be the Festa dei Ciclamini (4- 6 August) and the Festival of St. Anna (26 July), both of which include food, drinks, music, and fireworks. A traditional town festival is also held during the summer, where you can check out the local specialities.

Other events 
Expect to attend a typical medieval festival, where you can play old games, dress up, and of course, shop: on 25 and 26 July!
